KATHMANDU: Secretary Purushottam Ojha retired on Thursday. The Office of the Prime Minister organised a special function yesterday to felicitate him for his contribution over the years. Ojha entered the Nepal Administrative Service as a section officer in 1979 and became secretary in 2007.
He took the responsibilities as the secretary for the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies from 2007 to 2011. He undertook the overall management and administration of the ministry as its secretary, formulated trade policies and strategies, and participated in bilateral, regional and multilateral negotiations, events and forums on trade and investment issues.
He also coordinated various international agencies and development partners for mobilising external support in the trade and supplies sector during his tenure.
Ojha was considered a trade expert within the bureaucratic circle due to his long involvement in the country’s trade issues.
