PM Bhattarai inaugurates republican memorial

KATHMANDU: Prime Minster Dr Baburam Bhattarai has inaugurated the Republican Memorial in Kirtipur on Thursday.
Prime Minster Bhattarai has inaugurated the monument today in line with the decision made by the Cabinet, a source at the Prime Minister’s office said.
It is learnt that the republican monument is erected at the area of 60 ropanis of land at Gamkhel in Kirtipur. It is expected that the memorial will have a complete shape within three years.
Inaugurating the republican memorial, Prime Minister Bhattarai said that the memorial would be the tallest in Asia and being constructed to symbolically mark the historic Republican area ever taken place in the history of Nepal.
Previously the monument had been discussed to put up at Ratnapark.
