KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has directed all four security agencies to maintain high alertness keeping in account the fluidity of the pre-May 27 situation and the challenges and sensitiveness of the transitional period.
May 27 is the deadline to promulgate the new statute.
The meeting of the Central Security Committee held at prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday morning not only reviewed the overall security situation but Premier also directed all heads of the security bodies to prevent any kinds of untoward incidents.
PM Bhattarai also pledged his full support to maintain law and order inside the country and to provide security to media men.
Dr Bhattarai directed them to do more to give the people a sense of security and to prevent any inauspicious incident in the fragile political situation.
Along the chiefs of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, National Investigation Department, the meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar.
