KATHAMANDU: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has avowed to make appointments in the vacant constitutional bodies within the fifteen days.
The Constitutional Council is headed by Prime Minister himself.
According to PM Bhattarai, appointment process has been delayed due to differences among the political parties.
“But now government has already expedited the appointment process,” said Dr Bhattarai during the meeting of the State Affairs Committee (SAC) of the Parliament on Sunday morning.
“Short listing of the candidates has already begun for selecting persons in the constitutional bodies.”
The top posts in the constitutional bodies like the CIAA, Election Commission, Public Service Commission and the post of Auditor General are lying vacant.
The post of the CIAA Chief has been lying vacant for the last five years. Similarly, the posts in other constitutional bodies have been vacant for the last three years.
