BIRATNAGAR: Acting Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchadar today said that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai will tender his resignation at any time.

Talking to mediapersons at Biratnagar airport, Gachchadar said, “I guarantee that Prime Minister will put in his papers if political parties reach a consensus. PM can not and should not be an obstacle in the political process to give a way out to the country.”

Warning that an unconstitutional move would plunge the country into serious political chaos, Gachchadar noted that only a national consensus government could break the political deadlock facing the country. He urged the political parties to forge consensus to extricate Nepal from the current political crisis.

On the Election Commission’s direction to revoke government decision to transfer top police officers, Gachchadar said that government had transferred the top cops keeping in view the security situation during the next CA election. “I honour the EC’s decision. But the government transferred the top police officers to maintain law and order during the fresh CA polls,” he added.

On a different note, Gachchadar said that meeting held among the four political forces at the call of the Nepali Congress on Wednesday has opened the door of consensus and collaboration.
