PM vows to stamp out crime-politics nexus

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai today pledged to do his bit to stop politicisation of crime.
Speaking at a meeting with top political leaders, PM said no one involved in the crime in the veneer of politics will be spared, read a press release from the PM’s office. “The person involved in the crime may have affiliation to political parties, but no leader shall exert pressure for the criminal’s release”, PM Bhattarai said.
According to the statement, the political leaders have agreed to the PM’s proposal. It said the leaders have agreed not to seek the release of anyone going against the law even if the persons involved are from their own parties. PM also informed the security chiefs about the agreement and directed them to work at ease against any criminal as there will be no political pressure on them.
