Paris Hilton recovers from gay controversy in Hawaii

LONDON: She made negative headlines last week for her controversial comments about homosexual men.

But Paris Hilton didn't seem to be letting the furore bother her as she frolicked in the Hawaiian surf wearing a neon pink bikini on Sunday, reported the Daily Mail on Monday.

The 31-year-old socialite and reality star couldn't keep the smile off her face while showing off her svelte figure.

With her blonde hair in a pair of blonde bunches and a hairband, the star enjoyed a refreshing dip in the ocean alongside her 21-year-old boyfriend River Viiperi.

The Spanish male model and the reality show star couldn't keep their hands off each other as they strolled along the golden sands.

And she certainly seemed to be enjoying herself, earlier tweeting: 'Another day in Paradise with @RiverViiperi. #LifeIsBeautiful.'

The 31-year-old socialite flew to the sun-drenched island of Maui with River Viiperi to escape a media storm after she was recorded making homophobic comments in a taxi.

The recording featured her telling a friend that she thought a lot of gay men 'probably have AIDS' and saying they are 'disgusting' for being promiscuous.

Paris then issued a lengthy apology, saying she is sorry 'from the bottom' of her heart for insulting gay people.

She now clearly hoping to put the incident behind her, and has been spotted shopping and chilling out on the sun soaked island.

Paris is said to have only met her male model boyfriend just ten days ago at New York Fashion Week at the Marlon Gobel show in the Lincoln Centre.

Since then they have been spotted hanging out backstage at some of the other fashion shows and according to PerezHilton.com are constantly 'snuggling' and 'seeing each other as much as they can'.
