KATHMANDU: Major political parties have decided to buy two more days from Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Legislature-Parliament to forge consensus on the long overdue prickly issues in statute.
A meeting of the big three political parties- the Nepali Congress(NC), the CPN-UML, and the UCPN-Maoist held at Singha Durbar in the Capital this morning took the decision to this effect.
As per the earlier understanding reached at the BAC, the disputed issues of the constitution need to be settled by today.
In the meeting held at the CPN-UML parliamentary party office inside Singha Durbar, NC and the UCPN-Maoist urged the CPN-UML to join the Baburam Bhattarai-led government.
Sunday's Central Committee (CC) meeting of the CPN-UML had decided to play a constructive role in the statute drafting by staying out of the government.
Nepali Congress has already joined the government however. NC General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula was appointed as the third deputy prime minister in Bhattarai’s Cabinet on Sunday.
