"There is no meaning of protesting the CA revival bid if one cannot provide an alternative to it"

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel has asked the party president, Sushil Koirala, not to speak against the purported revival of Constituent Assembly. He said there is no meaning of protesting the CA revival bid if one cannot provide an alternative to it.

In a radio interview this morning, Paudel said he is advocating for the revival for a brief period to promulgate the constitution only.

He, however, said that way-out of the existing crisis can be either the CA revival, fresh elections or another political movement.

Koirala has been negating the revival notion, saying the parties should option for fresh elections.

Nepali Congress is open to all the options, he said, "Thus, there is no essence of protesting. Congress should be ready to think about all the options."

The CA, however, cannot be revived by being carried away by the Maoist agendas, according to Paudel.

He warned to remove Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai through an agitation if the latter did not step down immediately.
