KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, aka, Prachanda has reached to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Sunday morning to discuss about the government’s preparations to bring the fiscal budget.
The meeting, which is underway at President's office in Sheetal Niwas, between the President and Dahal comes at a time when the opposition parties, including the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Mohan Baidhya-led CPN-Maoist, have been opposing the government’s plan to bring a full-fledged budget without consensus.
Oppositions have already urged president not to approve ordinance for a full-fledged budget. Demanding the President’s intervention, 26 opposition parties have submitted a memorandum to President and insisted on consensus even for a small budget.
Though government has claimed that it is doing groundwork to bring a full-fledged budget after reaching consensus with the parties, oppositions are reiterating that the caretaker government has no right to bring the full-fledged budget.
President Yadav has already consulted with the chiefs of major political parties over budget fuss.
