It is believed that they have fled to India

KATHMANDU: All Nepal National Independent Students' Union (Revolutionary) on Tuesday suspended its member Bina Magar, who apparently ran away with UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's son Prakash Dahal.

After both of them apparently eloped and went out of contact with their families and organisations, Prakash was suspended from the Maoist party yesterday.

Both of them are married to separate persons.

It is believed that they have fled to India.

In a statement issued this evening, ANNISU-R Chairman Himal sharma said that Magar is out of contact with the organisation since July 4 and when the organisation inquired with her kith and kin it was learnt that she has not returned home since July 5, and not available in her mobile phone also since July 7.

Saying ANNISU and its cadres have been stunned by the media reports regarding their alleged extramarital affair and disappearance, Sharma said the organisation will conduct an investigation to find out Magar's whereabouts and if she breached the organisation's "revolutionary discipline" and social values.

Mentioning that the mother party took action against Prakash Dahal yesterday, Sharma said as Magar was neither in contact with her family and ANNISU nor she reacted over the matter yet it is suspected if it was a "serious cultural defection" on her part.

"For the time being, Bina Magar has been suspended from the organisation's central secretariat membership and coordinatorship of the Revolutionary FSU Council Nepal."
