KATHMANDU: President Ram Baran Yadav has extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of Krishnastami, calling on the populace to foster religious harmony for national unity, peace and prosperity. Issuing a press statement, President Yadav hoped that such festivals would help unite the people, promote nationality and conserve culture and traditions of the country. The president has also extended his greetings to Nepalis who observe the Gaura festival.
Meanwhile, issuing a separate statement, President Yadav extended his greetings to all the indigenous people in the country and abroad on the occasion of the World Indigenous Nationalities Day (August 9).
“The day will help establish the country as an integrated nation recognising the historical identity,” he said. President Yadav further stated that peace, stability, harmony and brotherhood could be maintained if Nepalis honoured each others’ traditions “May the occasion inspire us to be united in diversity,” he added.
