Prez stresses quality education

LALITPUR: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav today said that the main purpose of education should be to endeavour to achieve overall development of an individual, society and nation.
Speaking at the diamond jubilee celebration function of Nepal Jesuit Society at St Xavier’s School, Jawalakhel, he said the future of the nation lies in the standard of education that students receive.
He said Nepal has always been recognised in the world for religious tolerance.
“Even in the decade long insurgency, religious harmony was maintained, President added.
Appreciating NJS’s contribution to the education sector, he said, “The school has always produced the finest citizens that served the nation and the world.”
He reiterated that quality education was still out of reach in many parts of the country.
