KATHMANDU: Pulkit Bhimsaria of G’Five Mobile and Dharti Shrestha of Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) won the singles titles of the Seagram’s Royal Stag first Corporate Ping Pong Tournament here at the National Table Tennis Training Centre in Lainchaur today.
In the men’s singles final, Pulkit defeated Abhishek Dhwoj Rana 11-9, 12-10, 11-9 to deny NIBL from making clean sweep of the gold medals. Ranjitsore Lal Malla of Bank of Kathmandu dispatched Umeed Shrestha of Kumari Bank 11-9, 11-2, 11-5 in the third-place playoffs.
Dharti won the women’s singles title with a 11-6, 11-6, 8-11, 11-7 win over Manisha Shah of Global Bank. Elina Thapa of Ncell rallied for a 9-11, 12-10, 11-7, 11-6 victory over Nilu Sthapit of Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal to win the bronze medal.
Likewise, NIBL duo of Bikash Maharjan/Abhishek defeated the G’Five Mobile pair of Pulkit/Kushal Bhimsaria 11-9, 9-11, 11-8, 11-3 for the doubles title. Kumari Bank duo of Umeed and Chiran Bade Shrestha finished third defeating the Radisson Hotel pair of Santosh Bhandari and Keshav Maharjan 11-4, 12-10, 11-3.
Table Tennis Chief Coach Brijendra Hamal among other honoured the players. In all, players from 16 corporate houses took part in the two-day event, organised by PartyNepal, an event management company. The Himalayan Times was the official media of the tournament.
