KATHMANDU: Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) is honouring the players and sports personalities with the Pulsar Sports Award here at the Nepal Academy Hall on Wednesday. NSJF will give away the awards in eight different categories: Male, Female, Youth, Coach, Para-athlete, Special, Lifetime Achievement and Popular Player of the Year (PoY). The Male and Female winner along with the Popular PoY will win a Bajaj Pulsar motorbike each, while the winners in other categories will get Rs 30,000. While the Popular PoY will be decided through SMS voting, the winners in the Male, Female, Youth and Coach catergories will be picked up from within the five nominees each already announced earlier this month. Lifetime Achievement, Para-athlete and Special awards will be declared directly during the function. All the nominees will win Timex watch, while the winners will also win various gift hampers.
Nat’l Special Games
KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council is organising the 17th School-level National Special Games for physically challenged players here from Thursday. The two-day Games features only athletics events, informed the NSC. In all, 302 hearing and visual impaired athletes will vie for 45 track and field gold medals at the Dasharath Stadium.
Pyramid Basketball
KATHMANDU: Pyramid International College is set to organise the first Pyramid Inter-college 3x3 Basketball Tournament here from Sunday. A total of 30 teams in boys’ and girls’ sections will compete in the four-day tournament to be played at the hosts college premises.
