KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Janamukti Party (RJP) has warned of agitation from street, parliament and government in a bid to expert pressure on the big parties to promulgate constitution on time with the guarantee of restructuring of state based on ethnic identity.
At a press conference organised by the party in capital on Sunday, the agitation mobilisation committee coordinator KP Palungwa said the party was bound to wage agitation as the Prime Minister did not heed the 10-point memorandum the party submitted in November.
There was no option but to launch struggle because there was slim chance of meaningful constitution on time, and if promulgated it would not ensure federalism. He said the federalism could not be accepted if it did not ensure rights of dalits, ethnic communities and minorities.
Standing committee member of the party, Khildhwoj Thapa reiterated the need of federalism with the guarantee of identity and proportional representation in each state mechanism. He also demanded the full implementation of the religious secularism.
