BHAKTAPUR: Rajan Memorial International School (RMIS) and Brihaspati Vidhyasadan recorded victories in the fifth Chief of the Army Staff Inter-school Running Cricket Tournament here today.
RMIS thrashed Greenland Children Academy (GCA) by 78 runs. Electing to bat first, RMIS scored 157-4 in their allotted 20 overs and dismissed GCA for a paltry 79 in 16.4 overs.
Man-of-the-match Anil MC made an unbeaten 43 off 47 balls with three boundaries, while Pramod Khatri smashed a 14-ball 28 to help RMIS post a challenging total. Pramod hit four fours and Praveen Raj Panta also chipped in 19 runs.
Omik Pradhan claimed two wickets for GCA, while Sagar Pandit and Pratik Shrestha snared one each. Sujan Chapagain (2-12) and Aryan Adhikari (2-19) then shared four wickets between them to restrict GCA to a low total. Omik Pradhan (19) and Gaggan Pathak (11) were the only GCA batsmen to score in double figures.
In another match, Brihaspati dispatched EPS by five wickets. Batting first, EPS made 140-9 before Brihaspati scored 142-5 in 17.5 overs after a quickfire 32-ball 37 from man-of-the match Pratik Kanth. Pratik hit seven boundaries and a six. Pratik Rajbhandari also contributed valuable 29 for Brihaspati.
Earlier, Aatish Karki scored a 29-ball 37, while Susan Shrestha (26) and Kunal Shah (21) also made runs in double figures for EPS. Ayush Regmi and Biraj Tandukar had two scalps each for Brihaspati.
