Rally for social goodwill in Damak

DAMAK: A broader social goodwill was organized at Damak in Jhapa district today, calling for social harmony.
The rally saw the participation of more than two dozen organizations aligned to the UCPN-Maoist, the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML.
The rally which started from Ganatantra Chowk converged into a corner assembly by reaching at the same place after encircling different parts of the city.
Speaking at the corner assembly, local leaders of different political parties said that the rally was organized as the social harmony was destabilised in the name of ethnicity, strikes and shutdowns.
Meanwhile, some parties and organizations associated to Indigenous Nationalities, and the UCPN-Maoist Baidya faction protested the rally saying no activities were carried out for destabilizing social harmony in Damak area so far.
Cadres of different parties of Damak, Lakhanpur, Topgachhi and Dharampur under the Constituency No. 7 in Jhapa district were present in the rally.
