LALITPUR: Red Star Secondary School and Himsikhar English School recorded identical 4-1 victories in the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school National Football Tournament boys’ section matches here at the ANFA Technical Centre, Chyasal today.
Anil Sawa scored a brace, while Puran Rai and Tek Bahadur Limbu netted one each in Red Star’s victory over Deepjyoti Vidhyashram. Bijay Gyawali pulled back one for the Banke-based School. Likewise, Himsikhar dispatched Nepal Police School of Dhangadhi with a brace from Khem Raj Tamang and one each from Pradip Rai and Sanis Rai.
Also, Jivan Kumal scored four goals alone, Dev Gurung struck twice and Bimal Gurung added one as Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya Pokhara overwhelmed Siddhartha Boarding School 7-1. Nepal Adarsha School and Devkota Public School played a 1-1 stalemate.
Deepjyoti, Bal Bikash Higher Secondary School and JP High School got off to winning start in the girls’ section. Deepjyoti overcame Public High School 3-0 on goals from Babita Salami, Bhadrakala BK and Indra Salami.
Bal Bikash, meanwhile, dispatched Kanara High School 5-2 with Jyoti Neupane and Rubi Khadka scoring two goals each and
Kopila Thapa contributing one. Asarfi Chaudhary and Sangina Chaudhary replied for Kanara. In the last match, JP sneaked past Tops High School 1-0, thanks to a
solitary goal from Sunita Khadka.
