KATHMANDU: Vexed by the constitutional and political vacuum created by the dissolution of the CA, some former Constituent Assembly members of Nepali Congress urged Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Monday to take steps to reinstate the dissolved Constituent Assembly (CA) to complete the remaining tasks of the CA and promulgate the new constitution.

Out of the 62 CA members who had demanded reinstatement of CA on Sunday, only nine went to President Office in Sheetal Niwas today and sought president’s favor to restore the dissolved CA, which also functions as the Legislature Parliament, till the promulgation of the new constitution.

When they said only five percent task is left to promulgate the new statute, the head of the state justified that he cannot go beyond the constitutional provision and recommended the NC leaders to work as per consensus, as it would be easier for the president to declare the reinstatement of the CA on the recommendation of a national consensus government.

NC is all set to take the issue of reinstating the CA to the leaders of all political parties as well.

If we believe what Shobhakar Parajuli told, around 100 Congress lawmakers supported the reinstatement of the 114 former CA members.
