The award‚ established in memory of the then General Secretary of the INSEC‚ Prakash Kafle‚ carries a purse of Rs 50‚000.

POKHARA: The Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) has awarded human rights activist Nabadutta Dhungana with this year's Prakash Memorial Award.


The award, established in memory of the then General Secretary of the INSEC, Prakash Kafle, carries a purse of Rs 50,000.The INSEC has been honouring a rights activist every year for his/her contribution to the human rights sector



Handing over the award to Dhungana at a programme organised here today, Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Kedarnath Upadhyay, said that political parties were not recognising the performances of the human rights activists.


He expressed the view that human rights activists have played important roles to ending different discriminations including caste discrimination.
