KATHMANDU: Among the many brands of clothing, here comes another — SaDa, a brand by three friends Daljit Sudan, Sadhana Keshava and Sangita De. They have been designing outfits for the last two years. And their show ‘SaDa Spring Summer Collection’ is being held at Tara Oriental, Lazimpat on April 27 and 28, where 100 pieces, each different from the other, will be displayed.
Their designs have been exhibited in different shows in Bangladesh, India and Nepal. This two-day exhibition is SaDa’s fifth show. SaDa — meaning forever, simple and ours — is a brand that does contemporary or fusion designs but of “really good quality”, as per Sudan. The designing is mostly done by Sudan along with contributions by her two friends. “We have a good team. We gel very well. We are like family rather than partners,” claims Sudan.
For their clothing range, they “pick up different things from different places during their trips”. So, ‘SaDa Spring Summer Collection’ will see Parsi work from Kolkata, Chikan work from Lucknow along with smart and casual kurtis, flowy shirts, and Kashmiri creations, among others.
The trio started the endeavour two years ago when they wanted to do something together. According to Sudan, they were encouraged after their first show in Dhaka was much appreciated. They are also into designing jewellery, pashmina and coats.
The exhibition is from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm.
