Single lane allotted to public and heavy vehicles

KATHMANDU: Traffic Police has declared the rule of single track driving for public vehicles and heavy load carriers on the left side along the newly built Tinkune-Surya Binayak highway.
Chief of Metropolitan Traffic Police Division Ganesh Rai informed that the regime will be implemented from tomorrow to control overspeeding vehicles.
He said agreement was reached with transport entrepreneurs today. Driving on the left-lane also facilitates pick-up and dropping of passengers, added Rai.
Traffic police will begin penalizing offenders from Wednesday. Private vehicles can drive on both lanes.
