The drugs cannot be bought or sold without doctor's prescription

KATHMANDU: Police said on Tuesday that a team deployed from the Narcotic Drug Control

Law Enforcement Unit (NDCLEU), New Baneshwor, nabbed six people on possession of

medicinal drugs that are abused from different places of the Capital, and subsequently arrested two persons who allegedly supplied the contraband to them from Birgunj on Monday.

Santosh Kumar (32) of Birgunj, was held from from Maute Chok in Kalanki along with a cache of 2000 Buprenorphine ampoules and 1000 Diazepam ampoules on Saturday, December 24.

The drugs cannot be bought or sold without doctor’s prescription.

On Friday, December 23, Purushottam Pandey (47) of Duwakot, Bhaktapur and Aaitan Tamang (28) of Dansing of Nuwakot were also held with the same drugs from Pasang Lhamu Chok, Chabahil. The NDCLEU had confiscated 500 pieces of Buprenorphine ampoules and the same quantity of Diazepam.

After the arrests in Kathmandu, the police arrested Ali Hussein Hawari (28), resident of Birgunj of Parsa, and Bacchu Sah (50), resident of Itihai of Bara, from Birgunj on charge of supplying the drugs yesterday.
