Sujata calls for Defence Minister's resignation

BIRATNAGAR: Nepali Congress (NC) central member Sujata Koirala has sought the resignation from Defense Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari from his post.
Talking to media persons briefly at the Biratnagar Airport on Saturday, leader Koirala said Minister Bhandari should resign from the post at the earliest for his recent public statement which was against the national integrity and sovereignty.
"Such statement by the Defence Minister reflects his narrow concept on nationalism and I condemn this", she added.
She urged the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic to take disciplinary action against Minister Bhandari. Defence Minister Bhandari represents the MJF-Democratic in the government.
The NC central member further admitted that the problem of factionalism has gripped the party, too and said the decision of dissolving the party's sister wings taken by party President Sushil Koiral would not be withdrawn.
