TIA 'Blue' claim title

KATHMANDU: The ‘Blue’ team of the hosts Trungram International Academy (TIA) won the first TIA Nine-a-side Football Tournament title here today.
Dhiraj Tamang (18), Ganesh Khadka (34) and Heman Gurung (49) scored one goal apiece as TIA rallied for a 3-2 victory over Pyramid International College. Pradip Gurung struck twice (14, 59) for Pyramid.
TIA pocketed Rs 30,000, while the runners-up Pyramid took home Rs 15,000.
TIA also dominated the best individual titles. Dhiraj, who scored seven goals in the tournament, was adjudged the best forward, while Heman and Biswas Shrestha were named the best midfielder and defender respectively. TIA's Siddhi Byanjankar won the best coach award.
Raj Chaudhary of Pyramid was adjudged the best goalkeeper and St Lawrence received the Fair Play award.
