KATHMANDU: A meeting of the taskforce formed by the Special Committee (for supervision, integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants) is underway to forge consensus on integration-related outstanding issues on Thursday.
The meeting which is ongoing at the office of the Special Committee in New Baneshwor is expected to settle the integration related issues including composition of the selection committee and ranks to be offered to Maoist fighters.
Similarly, the meeting is also anticipated to forge consensus on the overall structure of the directorate general to be formed under the Nepali Army and the tenure of the bridging courses for the to-be-integrated fighters among others, sources confirmed.
Earlier yesterday, the SC had formed the taskforce comprising four SC members, one each from four major political forces — Barshaman Pun of the UCPN-Maoist, Minendra Rijal of Nepali Congress, Bhim Rawal of CPN-UML and Jitendra Dev of MJF-D.
