Taskforce to improve TU Kirtipur relation

KIRTIPUR: A taskforce is to be formed to improve souring relations between locals of Kirtipur and the Tribhuwan University (TU).
The initiative is on the cards after local residents of Kirtipur resorted to wage struggle citing non-implementation of agreements reached in course of the establishment of TU.
Though local residents of Kirtipur have long been in phase-wise struggle to pile pressure for the implementation of past accords made while occupying land for the establishment of TU, their demands have yet to be addressed.
The government had occupied around 6,500 ropanis of land for the setup of TU after 2013 BS.
The agreements reached with locals in course of the inception of TU have not yet been implemented, said member of TU Victim Struggle Committee, Birendra Shakya.
