Thankot youth slits mother's throat to kill her

KATHMANDU: A youth, identified as Mahesh Balami (24), has been arrested on charge of attacking his mother with a sharp weapon and killing her from Tekanpur, Thankot on the outskirts of Kathmandu on Saturday.
The victim, Gangamaya Balami (50), was critically injured when her son attacked her with a sickle and slit her throat this morning.
She was rushed to the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, where she breathed her last during the course of treatment.
Police said they have detained the murderer son and investigating the case.
