KATHMANDU: With the deadline of constitution drafting drawing closer, Tharu Struggle Committee comprising 10 Tharu associations including Tharu Welfare Council on Tuesday has declared a four-day protest programme across the Tarai belt.
The protest programmes include; torch rally on Tuesday evening, Tharuhat Bandh in the area starting from Chitwan to Kanchanpur in the Far-west on Wednesday, Tharuhat Bandh in the area between Siraha to Jhapa in the East on Thursday and general strike on Friday across the Tharuhat region.
Federation of Indigenous Nationalities has called on all the ethno-based associations to extend physical and moral support to make the protest programmes a success.
