KANCHANPUR: Number of foreign tourists entering Nepal through western border checkpoint, Gaddachauki, has witnessed fall this year.
Only 297 foreign tourists entered Nepal via this checkpoint this year in comparison to 457 of last year's April .
As much as 1,640 foreigners had used Gaddachauki route to arrive Nepal as of December last year, said Immigration Officer Rana Bahadur Bista.
Some 1,324 tourists had left Nepal through the same checkpoint.
Revenue of Rs. 4.19 million was collected from the tourists during the period.
Tourists from the countries like the United Kingdom, the United States of America, France, Germany, Canada and China are said to have frequently used this route while entering Nepal.
