KATHMANDU: Transport Entrepreneurs has agreed to provide appointment letters to the transport workers.
According to Chairman of the All Nepal Transport Worker's Association, Jagat Simkhada, the workers who have been involved in transport sector for years will get appointment letters after the agreement signed on Friday.
The Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs (FNTE) and the Federation of Nepal Truck and Tanker Entrepreneurs (FNTTE) have agreed to provide the appointment letters to the workers. The workers will get remuneration, sick leave, gratuity, provident fund, and Social security allowance once the agreement is brought into force.
Similarly, the workers have agreed not to organise bandas and strikes unnecessarily and if they are to fight for their rights they need to follow transport rules and regulations, said Simkhada.
Transport entrepreneurs and FNTE General Secretary Dolnath Khanal, Treasurer Saroj Sitaula and General Secretary of FNTTE Rajendra Kumar Shrestha and joint-treasurer Suresh Paudel signed the agreement.
Likewise, chairman Simkhada, general secretary Jhamkanath Paudel and secretary Bishnu Belbase signed the agreement from the workers' association side.
