"A total of 2395 deputy chiefs‚ 19843 inspectors‚ and 16720 security personnel would be used in 1672 exam centres during the SLC exam all across the country."

KATHMANDU: Minister for Education Gangalal Tuladhar on Wednesday said the government would take every possible measure to maintain the sanctity of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations for this year starting on Thursday.

Speaking at a programme in the capital today, Minister Tuladhar said the government would not let anybody involved in irregularities go unpunished. “All those violating exam norms will be punished under the Education Act and Regulations.”

Appointments of chiefs of exam centres last year were negotiated and shared among supporters of political parties, said Minister Tuladhar, adding that it was a malpractice. “This time around, that will not happen as this is a responsible government,” he claimed.

A total of 2395 deputy chiefs, 19843 inspectors, and 16720 security personnel would be used in 1672 exam centres during the SLC exam all across the country, said Minister Tuladhar. This year, a total of 4, 98,243 students are appearing for the exam.
