KATHMANDU: Two separate incidents of burglary were reported in the Valley on Monday night. According to Metropolitan Police, an unidentified gang broke into the house of Babukaji Maharjan in Kathmandu-29 and made off with a laptop and other valuables worth over Rs 160,000. Likewise, in yet another incident of burglary on the same night, cash and valuables that have been valued at Rs 150,000 were burgled from the house of Prabesh Prasad Shrestha in Jagal, Lalitpur on Monday.

Body found

KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Police on Tuesday afternoon discovered the body of a youngster who has been identified as Bishnu Rana (17) of Gulmi from room 21 of Bhotebahal-based Yatri Guest House where he was working as an employee. The room was found to have been latched from inside, police said. No injury marks were detected on the body of Rana when police entered the room. The body has been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj for post-mortem.

Worker dies

KATHMANDU: Gom Bahadur Ale (45) of Tanahun died due to hypoxia on Tuesday afternoon while cleaning a well on the premises of Subhakamana Sawmill in Balkhu. Investigators attributed oxygen deficiency inside the deep well as the cause of death. Local residents in the area had informed the police because Ale failed to climb out of the well after more than an hour.

Relief given

KATHMANDU: Army Wives Association (AWA) distributed relief packages to impoverished Chepang communities of Makawanpur and Chitwan districts on Sunday and Monday. A total of 133 families of Kankada in Makwanpur and 125 of Kabilash in Chitwan received rice, beaten rice, sugar and biscuits, Nepal Army said in a statement today.
