KATHMANDU: Unified CPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has assured that the dissenting views expressed by the Central Committee members on his political report would be incorporated in the document to the extent possible. The CC meeting ended here today.
The seventh plenum of the party is scheduled from tomorrow which will be attended by 5000 cadres from across the country.
Central Committee member Haribol Gajurel, a Dahal loyalist, said the views expressed by the CC members including written suggestions presented by some members on the Dahal’s political report were useful and not in contradiction with the basic thrusts of the chairman’s report.
The major suggestions presented in the meeting were regarding, nationalism, party organisations and party’s approach to manage internal contradictions.
Polit Bureau members of the party including vice chair Narayan Kaji Shrestha spoke in today’s meeting. According to Gajurel, Shrestha said he continued to disagree on the Business Promotion and Protection agreement that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai signed with India a few months ago.
According to Gajurel, another CC member Lila Bahadur Thapa said the leaders holding positions in the party should not be assigned portfolios in the government as it could have a bearing on the smooth functioning of the party.
Chandra Prakash Khanal the Dhobighat meeting (held by Baburam Bhattarai and Mohan Baidhya against Dahal before Bhattarai became the new PM) should be reviewed.
Gajurel said one of the major objectives of the chairman’s document was to end groupism within the party.
CC member Ramrijhan Yadav said he and other Madhesi leaders of the party had submitted written suggestions in the meeting urging the leadership to ensure enough representation of Madhesi leaders in all the bodies of the party.
Madhesi leaders also urged the party to stick to the proposal of two pradeshes across Madhes as recommended by the thematic committee of the dissolved Constituent Assembly.
