KATHMANDU: The UCPN-Maoist has formed a three member talks-team on Wednesday, which has been endowed with a responsibility to hold talks with the Baidhya faction( which has lately formed a new party, Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist) as an endeavor to keep every shot alive for the sake of party reunification.
The Standing Committee meeting of the UCPN-Maoist held at the residence of Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Lazimpat formed the negotiation team under the coordination of Maoist Standing Committee member Amik Sherchan.
The team also comprises of Maoist leaders Barsha Man Pun and Dina Nath Sharma.
Today’s SC also decided to postpone the extended Central Committee (CC) meeting of the UCPN-Maoist which was earlier scheduled for June 29- July 1.
Now extended CC has been postponed for July 16- 20.
Maoists had earlier planned extended CC to fix the intra party rifts and how to move ahead in the changed political context.
But now dissenting Maoists led by Mohan Baidhya have formed a new party, blaming UCPN-Maoist Chairman Dahal of deviating from Maoist ideology, politics and principles.

Prachanda by now must have realised that he in the name of peace sacrificed many things which he had aspired,but at the cost of his party comrades. Leave aside the surviving party comrades-he has failed to respect the sacrifices made by the Martyrs (questionable!).What about 10 5 yrs long wait by the public ,PLA fighters and everybody. gaunle, xxxsc77
