KATHMANDU: The meeting of the central office bearers of UCPN-M on Wednesday morning discussed the serious differences that have popped up between Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

Both are the vice-chairmen of the UCPN-M.

They are at odds since their recent visit to Non-aligned Movement summit in Iran where the PM, as reported, had held a one-on-one with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, without consulting any officials from the Foreign Ministry.

Today’s meeting took at the residence of UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Lazimpat, where Bhattarai and Shrestha voiced their concerns to their boss.

Meanwhile, not any Maoist leaders gave information about the meeting.

Of late, 33 local leaders and cadres, who were said to be loyal to UCPN-M Vice-chairman and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai have already defected to CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidhya.
