KATHMANDU: The UCPN-Maoist plenum scheduled for Monday has been postponed for Tuesday due to the death of some Maoist cadres in the road accident at Krishnabhir on Monday.
An informal meeting of party office bearers held at the residence of party chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, in Lazimpat this morning, put off the meeting until 7:00 am tomorrow, central member Narayan Dahal said.
Central member Dahal said that today's meeting was postponed after three cadres coming to Kathmandu to take part in the plenum died in a road accident at Krishnabhir and two in the bus-tipper collision at sunwal of Nawalparasi district today.
Some 5,300 cadres from across the nation have arrived in Kathmandu to take part in the meeting, according to the UCPN-Maoist.
There is a programme to present contemporary and political proposal prepared by party chairman Dahal.
A management committee has been formed under the coordination of standing committee member, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, for the management of the meeting.
