UDMF strike brings Eastern Terai to standstill

BIRATNAGAR: Normal life in Sunsari, Morang, and Saptari has been affected due to a strike called by United Democratic Madhesi Morcha (UDMF) today.
Transport services have been disrupted, educational institutions, industries, factories and local markets remained closed in the districts, our correspondents reported.
However, revenue collection in the Rani Customs Office has not been affected though the bandh affected life, said Officiating Chief of the Office Krishna Prasad Neupane.
The office has met its daily target despite the bandh, Neupane said. The Rani Customs Office has been collecting some Rs 35 million revenue everyday.
