KATHMANDU: A Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the CPN-UML is underway at the party headquarters in Balkhu on Sunday morning.

Today’s SC has been called to make preparations for the national gathering of party cadres slated for June 18 and 19, said CPN-UML Standing Committee member Bharat Mohan Adhikari.

Saturday’s Central Committee (CC) meeting of the UML decided to hold national gathering to review the latest political developments inside the country, infra-rift within the party, and the party's activities since its eighth general convention.

UML is under trouble these days after its Janjati and Madhesi leaders boycotted politburo and CC meets of the party arguing that the party leadership needs to heed to the demand of single-identity based federalism.
