UML leader Jwala urged the Prime Minister to pave way for national consensus by tendering resignation.

ROLPA: Leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (UML) have alleged that the Constituent Assembly (CA) was dissolved due to the UCPN (Maoist).

NC leader Ramesh Lekhak and UML leader Prakash Jwala charged the Maoist party for the CA dissolution, saying that the popularly elected body was dissolved by the Maoist party's unilateral decision sans drafting the new constitution.

Speaking at a press meet jointly organised by Nepal Press Union and Press Chautari Nepal, Rolpa chapters, the leaders said that today's mass meeting would pile pressure on Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai to step down from the post.

During the press meet, Lekhak said that the CA elections scheduled for November 22 would not be held at any cost, claiming that only parliamentary elections were possible.

Likewise, UML leader Jwala urged the Prime Minister to pave way for national consensus by tendering resignation.

The UML leader said that single identity based federalism could destabilise social harmony.

However, a great many UML leaders belonging to the ethnic communities have been threatening to quit the party for not respecting identity-based federalism.

Identity based federalism is a trick by the old-guard political parties to divide and conquer the opposition to them. It is a primitive attempt to enforce the caste system that is doomed to failure. The Nepali people are now too educated to fall fore this stupid trick. parbati lama, Boston, USA
