KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice Chairperson Ashok Rai has said that party would not resort to split owing to the dispute surfaced within the party on federalism.
Addressing the Valley-level gathering of National People's Cultural Federation here on Saturday, Vice-chairperson Rai asserted that they are in favor of federalism based on ethnic identity and it would be reached to conclusion through internal discussion.
He also said that the UML has significant role to hammer out political consensus and give outlet to the country.
At the programme, Federation General Secretary Khagendra Rai said cultural functions have been accomplished through different seven genres in a bid to expand party organisation across the country.
The gathering is said to have elected a new leadership of the Federation in the Valley.
