Udayapur jailbird kills self by slitting throat

KATHMANDU: A jailbird has hacked himself to death in the in Udayapur on Wednesday.
35-year-old Shyam Pariyar used a small knife used to slit his throat at a toilet of the District Prison today morning, according to police.
A permanent resident of Bhalayodanda of the district, Pariyar was doing his time after being convicted of deforestation.
He was rushed to the District Hospital for treatment, but he could not be saved.
Police said they are looking into the case.
