KATHMANDU: “Her lyrics are simple and easy. When she writes she brings in emotions that people can relate to,” shared lyricist Nabaraj Lamsal about the writings of Unnati ‘Sheela’ Bohara. And many singers like Prem Dhoj Pradhan to Karna Das to Ram Krishna Dhakal to Anju Panta have breathed life into her lyrics.
Now her lyrics have been compiled in ‘Sheela’ Ka Sparsha Haru’, her second collection.
Along with the book that was launched by Rastrakabi Madhav Prasad Ghimire on July 6, two DVDs of music videos — Sadbhav Kaa Phool Haru and Srijana Kaa Rang Haru — were launched by veteran musician Amber Gurung. Sadbhav Kaa Phool Haru includes patriotic songs like Farki Aau Shanto Timi, Yuwa Yuwa Yo Desh Ka Yuwa, Jhanda Yo Jhanda among others.
Bohara said that she “wanted to spread the message of peace and togetherness. Nepal is a place where Gautam Buddha was born and now there is conflict among Nepali brothers”.
However, Srijana Kaa Rang Haru is a collection of songs that is about her experiences of life. It includes songs like Timi Bina, Yo Duniya, Timi Lai Maya Garne. The composer of music for both DVDs is Sambhujeet Baskota.
Lamsal also pointed out that “her lyrics are contemporary which might not be in use tomorrow”. He opined that any work should be for the future as well.
The event also entertained the crowd that comprised junior and senior artistes from the Nepali music industry with performances by Anju Panta and Pramod Kharel.
