KATHMANDU: After Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal failed time and again to woo the dissenting vice-chairman of the party Mohan Baidhya, establishment faction inside the UCPN-Maoist has decided to exhibit maximum flexibility to keep the party intact.

The Standing Committee (SC) meeting of Maoist leaders aligned to Pushpa Kamal Dahal agreed to this point on Wednesday morning.

The SC held at Dahal’s residence in Lazimpat precisely concluded with a note to submit a solid proposal regarding the concerns raised by leaders of the hardliner faction.

Baidhya has been demanding Dahal to adopt the line of New People’s Republic instead of parliamentary system.

According to Maoist leader Dina Nath Sharma , the proposal will be handed over to Baidhya today soon after the Dahal finalise it.

At a time when dissenting faction led by Mohan Baidhya has almost completed all the preparation to form a new party, the establishment faction is making the last-ditch attempt to court the resisting faction.

According to Baidhya, there are equal chances of party unity and split as the negotiation is yet to be concluded.
