CHARIKOT: Vice-President Parmananda Jha visited the construction site of Upper Tamakoshi Hydro Project in Lamabagar, Dolakha, on Saturday. On his way to the country's largest 456-megawatt hydro project, Jha also offered prayers to Dolakha's Bhimeshwor temple. According to project acting chief Bigyan Prasad Shrestha, about 50 per cent work is over, while more than two-third of tunnel construction work has been completed. The hydro project is estimated to be completed in three years at the cost of Rs 35.39 billions.
One held with weapon
JANAKPURDHAM: Police on Friday night arrested Hiralal Yadav, 28, of Bengadabar VDC on the charge of possessing a weapon from Puspalpur, Dhanusha. A police team from the District Police Office arrested Yadav, who was currently living in Yagyabhumi, with a pistol, a magazine used in the pistol and six rounds of bullets. Police have also impounded his motorcycle. He is kept at the police custody.
