JANAKPURDHAM: Vice President Parmananda Jha has said it is unfortunate that less attention is paid to the development of Janakpurdham.

Inaugurating the first general convention of the Maithili Brahmin Samaj here on Friday, Jha said Janakpurdham is a special region from the religious and tourism point of view as it is the birthplace of Janaki.

Jha said there are immense possibilities for the promotion of Janakpurdham in the economic, spiritual and tourism spheres.

On the occasion, the Vice President said the people of Brahmin communities should carry out exemplary works for the promotion of people of other communities by reforming the traditional mindset.

Lawmaker Yadubansa Jha said the people of Brahmin communities should pay attention to safeguarding the existence of people of all communities.

Professor Dr Sushil Kumar Jha and advocate Shyam Kumar Mishra also expressed their views on the occasion.
