KATHMANDU: Victory Rana clinched the Above-65-years category title of the first Citizens Bank Veterans Tennis Championships here today.

Victory beat Madhukar Rana 8-5 in final. Entering the semi-finals in the Above-35-yrs category were Sukuman Tamang, Sanjeev Shrestha, Sanu Lama and Rohit Sunuwar. Sukuman beat Pratap Moktan 0-6, 7-5, 10-6, Sanjeev overcame Anuj Arora 6-2, 6-2, Sanu saw off Niresh Shrestha 6-1, 6-1 and Rohit beat Mahesh Shrestha 6-4, 6-2.

Karma Ghale Suwarna Dhakhwa, Pradeep Shah and Krishna Raj Ghale also made it to the semi-finals of the Above-45-yrs category. Karma battled to a 6-4, 5-7, 10-3 win over Dharma Shahi, Suwarna defeated Harbind Singh 6-2, 6-2, Pradeep laboured to a 6-0, 5-7, 10-7 victory over Uttam Ghale and Krishna eased past Dhruba Gurung 6-1, 6-1.

Suwarna-Krishna Raj, Manoj Rana-Soviet Man Shrestha, Dharma-Sanjay Amatya and Chhamba Dhunduk-Uttam Lama entered the Above-45-yrs doubles semi-finals. Entering the Above-35yrs doubles category last four were Rameshwor Thapa-Harbind Singh, Chandra-Soviet and Raju Chhetri-Rajesh Chhetri. Likewise, Dhruba Gurung-also made it to the Above-55-yrs category semi-finals.
