KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai is all set to meet ruling parties today also to discuss over the issue of appointing the next Inspector General of Police.
As reported, the meeting has been fixed for 5 PM ,wherein ruling alliances-- the UCPN-Maoist and United Democratic Madhesi Front-- will once again dwell on who should be the next IGP.
Friday meeting had ended inconclusively after a dispute, as said, surfaced between Prime Minister Bhattarai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijay Kumar Gachhadar over the selection of the new IGP.
Three AIGs — Nawaraj Dhakal, Kuber Singh Rana, and Bhishma Prasai — are vying for the top post of Nepal Police.
According to Sadbhawana Party Chairman Laxman Lal Karna, “the next IGP will be selected in a non-controversial manner. The issue is between the PM and the DPM.”
