State Minister Sah said the government has been providing welfare advertisements to all media in a proportional way.

POKHARA: State Minister for Information and Communications, Surita Kumari Sah has stressed on paying due attention for the development and expansion of the print media to promote country's journalism.


Inaugurating a workshop on 'Upgrading Nepali Print Media' organised by the National Network of Nepali Print Media in Pokhara on Friday, State Minister Sah said the government has been providing welfare advertisements to all media in a proportional way.


She said that media's role in the process of establishing democratic republic was crucial. Lawmaker of the CPN (UML), Rabindra Adhikari, said quality of print media should be standardised as they were also the bases for the development of electronic media.


Journalists associated with different media houses, representatives of various political parties and others highlighted the role of print journalism in Nepal on the occasion.


Journalists from all 16 districts of the Western Development Region have been participating in the workshop.
